Healing in His Wings: 2 Nephi 25-27

"The Lord will...restore his people from their lost and fallen state." 2 Nephi 25:17

When feeling down, inadequate, frustrated, anxious, depressed, alone, afraid, doubtful, insecure....the scriptures counsel us to "look forward with steadfastness unto Christ" (2 Nephew 25:24). To turn to Him should be our first instinct when in trouble or in need, for "we are made alive in Christ" (2 Nephi 25:25). If we sincerely approach Him and utilize His atonement, the promise is that "he shall heal them, and they shall have peace with him" (2 Nephi 26:9). Peace. The gospel is a message of hope, not condemnation! Anyone can be healed; as Christ went through all of our pain and paid for our mistakes, we needn't bear our sorrows and burdens alone. He carried them, too, once, and it would be a mistake to let His sacrifice go to waste. Give your problems to Him and let Him help you.

"Come unto me all ye ends of the earth, buy milk and honey, without money and without price" (2 Nephi 26:25). He requires nothing from us but our best effort. You needn't be perfect, just trying! He asks that we keep His commandments to the best of our abilities--not giving in or giving up, but constantly rising again when we fall, returning to the grind even when we may slip up. No matter who you are, where you've been, or your current state, "he denieth none that come unto him" (2 Nephi 26:33). No one is beyond the Lord's help!

"Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field; and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest" (2 Nephi 27:28). He can take us from nothing and make us into more than we ever thought possible. Trust in Him. Look towards Christ. I know that we can overcome our challenges--mental, emotional, spiritual, physical--with His help. Every. Time. What you're facing is hard, no matter how the trial might compare to someone else's, but He has the power to help you and is ready and waiting to do so. Although you might be covered and surrounded by dark clouds, He is the light that will push through the storm and bring you relief and peace. Turn to Christ. He will restore you--as though you are a smashed heirloom of great value, He will glue you back together, no matter how many shattered pieces you may be in.
